Photos picker baseline
Phase 0 feasibility test. This page displays metadata only. It does not read or upload your photos or videos.
Start with a controlled 200–500 MB sample. Record Safari Documents & Data in Settings before selecting. Selection itself may increase storage on affected devices. Stop if growth persists or storage is low.
Find Safari’s storage usage
- Leave this tab open and switch to the iPhone’s Settings app.
- Tap General → iPhone Storage. On an iPad, tap iPad Storage.
- Wait for the storage figures and app list to finish loading. Scroll through the list and tap Safari. If it is not immediately visible, keep scrolling after the list has loaded.
- Find Documents & Data on Safari’s storage screen. Write down its value including MB or GB and the time, or take a screenshot. If the figure is still changing, wait and note that in your results.
- Return to this tab and select your sample below. After selection finishes, follow the same Settings path and record the new value for comparison.
Use the Documents & Data figure, rather than App Size or the separate Safari → Advanced → Website Data list. Do not clear history or website data between measurements; that would change the baseline. If Documents & Data is missing on your iOS version, record that and your version instead of substituting another figure.
